The
Endowment Fund for Rehabilitation of Tigray (EFFORT) was
established in August 1995 using the wealth and property endowed to it.
Its main objective is to actively participate inthe efforts geared towards
bringing fundamental socio-economic transformation in the Regional State
of Tigray in particular and the country in general. Worth mentioning,
the aforesaid objectives could be spell our as, inter alia:

Participating in activities that ensure the economic growth and social and cultural progress of Tigray and its people in accordance with the pertinent laws of the country.

Involving in the socio-economic efforts particularly aimed at the provision and expansion of social services such as health, education, potable water etc;

Supporting forest, water and soil conservation, and other developmental activities geared towards the same cause;
-
Addressing the social problems of the people caused by natural and manmade calamities;
-
Assisting the effort geared to produce more skilled manpower that would play a pivotal role in expediting the socio-economic development of the region and establishing educational and research institutions;

Involving in the efforts deployed to maintain and further enrich the language, history and culture heritages, industriousness and solemnity, cooperativeness and mutual respect, commitment and solidarity, Hero and commitment etc. of the people;

Assist citizens suffering from mental and physical illnesses, orphan, the elderly, and people living with HIV/AIDS and other victims of the same problems on the principle of self-help.

Carrying out other related activities that would enable directly and indirectly achieve the aforementioned objectives.
